About
A small NC outfit, closing circles.
Six Circles Renewables started as a backyard project in Raleigh and grew into a directory, an advocacy site, and a small online store. Everything we do is in service of the same idea: keep the loop closed.
Mission
What we're trying to do.
Most "green" companies sell you a thing and call it impact. We think the better lever is making good options easier to find — and harder to ignore — for the people already looking.
That's why our anchor product is a directory: the shortest path between a North Carolina homeowner and a solar installer they can trust. We don't sell solar systems. We don't take leads. We just try to be the cleanest map of who's out there.
From there, we branch outward — into advocacy for policies that let renters and condo dwellers participate, into a storefront for the off-grid edge cases, and eventually into the projects we haven't shipped yet.
The six circles
Why "six," and what each one means.
Each circle is one practice we want to do well. Some are live. Some are promises. The shape — six interlocking rings — is the company.
Solar
Help people find a trustworthy installer.
Advocacy
Push for legalization of plug-in solar.
Commerce
Stock the gear that keeps the lights on.
Community
Be useful to our NC neighbors first.
Materials
Match waste streams with the people who can use them.
Regeneration
Buy boring stuff from companies that aren't a problem.
Where we are
Raleigh, North Carolina.
Run by people who live where the sun is good and the policy is mixed. We started here because it's home; we stay here because there's plenty to do.
